ongratulations Barbara Walthall of Albany, Georgia for finding a 20 plus carat Emerald here at our location.
We found the emerald to be about 25mm in circumference or
about one inch in diameter with a thickness of about 12mm (1/2 inch). This Amazing find was
found by Barbara on 8-29-04 at around 3:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Almost 45% of the
stone was translucent making it the nicest find here yet! Thank you again Barbara for making
our day here at The Emerald Mine of Little Switzerland.
n late Thursday evening Oct 14, 2004 L.M Durham of Greensboro, NC
and mining buddy Johnnie Johnson of South Carolina were digging in our new working mine shaft and L.M. found a super nice 5ct emerald mixed with mica quartz and feldspar.
